ABOUT THE BOOK:

An electrifying collection of reportage from one of the twentieth century’s great radical journalists.

John Reed was a radical American labor journalist and a revolutionary socialist, best known for his eyewitness account of the Russian Revolution of 1917, Ten Days That Shook the World. In 1919, Reed helped to found the US Communist Party. His life is told in the 1981 Academy Award-winning film Reds, starring Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton. Reed also chronicled many other flash-points of the workers’ struggle, and the best of his journalism is collected in this new edition of his writings, edited by historian and activist Mike Davis.
